The Poïesis project began in a graduate workshop at VCU. Poïesis (I-VII) is a collection of 7 films paired with audio collages and printed material. Each film/audio collage/book in Poïesis was a study of one of seven modes of perception, and an attempt to break with it's influence. |

Poïesis I-VII, Print Media, Various Sizes, 2006 I packaged the entire Poïesis project in a single (one-off) box, which also served as the dvd menu, allowing the user to make the connection between film and corresponding printed piece. The project allowed me to explore various methods of book binding, and alternatives to packaging digital media. To view enlargements of the print material to the left, click here. Poïesis VII, Hand-painted/
Poïesis VII is the final film in a collection of 7 films paired with audio collages and printed material. Each film/audio piece/book in Poïesis was a study of one of the seven chosen modes of perception, and an attempt to break with it's influence. This particular film is a study of tactililty. Handpainted/scratched 8mm film was slowed to .0125fps. |
